Please join the Willamette Valley Concert Band as we present our annual Christmas Concert, December 15th at 1 p.m. at the Russell Tripp Perfornance Center at the Linn-Benton Community College Albany Campus
LBCC, 6500 Pacific Blvd SW. The auditorium is located in the Takena Building and there is plenty of parking
The program will include several medleys of religious and popular Christmas songs:; A Yuletide Portrait; A Canadian Brass Christmas; A Christmas Portrait; and Wishing You a Merry Christmas; plus Fum, Fum, Fum as arranged for the Mannheim Steamroller Orchestra; Carol of the Bells; The Nativity Paintings and Finale from Scenes from the Louvre; and The Bells of Christmas which has a narration.
For the special finale to the program, the band is inviting former members of the band to join us on the stage to play our two traditional closing numbers for many years: Sleigh Ride by Leroy Anderson and an audience sing-a-long of Adeste Fidelis (O Come all Ye Faithful).
Any former band member who would like to play for this finale should RSVP to Richard Sorenson at email@example.com. If you can join us, plan to come to a short rehearsal of the two pieces at noon the day of the concert. Please list your instrument so we can make copies of the music for you to use. If you have a music stand it would be helpful to bring it. We have no idea how many alumni will show up but it would be great to pack the stage for a big ending!
A reception honoring Dr. Sorenson will follow the concert. Please join us!
The concert is performed in memory of Mary Sorenson, Director Sorenson’s beloved wife of 50 years who passed away September 28, 2018.
Audience members may make a free-will donation after the concert to help defray the costs of presenting the program. No tickets are required for the concert. Concert sponsors are Russell and Duffy Tripp through the Linn Benton Community College Foundation.
